Critical Minerals Exploration

IRELAND’S ZINC PROVINCE

A globally recognised setting for zinc exploration

Ireland has a rich history of zinc exploration and mining, leading to the naming of its own “Irish-Type” of zinc deposit.

Irish-Type zinc deposits are highly sought after by major mine developers due to Ireland’s established mining industry, favourable fiscal regime, and high quality zinc concentrates.

Ireland: Kildare Project – High Grade Zinc-Lead

Our flagship 100%-owned Kildare Project is located approximately 40km southwest of Dublin and is comprised of approximately 240km2 of contiguous prospecting licences.

On September 8th 2020 ZMI announced at updated resource for Kildare of 11.3Mt @ 9.0% Zn + Pb Inferred.

Our focus on the Kildare Project is driven by its similarities to the high grade profitable Irish-Type zinc mines nearby, including:

Long Section through the Kildare-Celtic Tiger Area.

Kildare Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE)

Notes:

  • MRE based on a 5.0% ZnEq Cut-off
  • For the purposes of calculating a ZnEq cut-off, these two prices were rounded to US$2,500 per tonne for Zn and US$2,000 per tonne for Pb, resulting in a 0.8 ratio between Pb and Zn. All elements included in the ZnEq formula calculation have reasonable potential to be recovered and sold.
  • The resultant ZnEq formula used in the resource reporting is:
    • ZnEq = (Zn% * Zn recovery) + (0.8* (Pb% * Pb recovery)).
    • ZnEq = (Zn% * 0.9639) + (0.8 * Pb% * 0.8644)
  • For further information on the Mineral Resource Estimate and ZnEq calculations, refer to ZMI’s ASX Announcement dated 8 September 2020.
